he horror streaming world just got a lot more intense! Shudder has unleashed the trailer for its upcoming home invasion thriller, PUSH, and it looks like a lean, mean, and terrifying new addition to the subgenre. If you're craving a suspenseful, high-stakes encounter, this might just be your next obsession.
Directed by the talented duo David Charbonier and Justin Powell (known for The Djinn and The Boy Behind the Door), PUSH dives straight into a nightmare scenario. The film stars Alicia Sanz as Natalie Flores, an 8-month pregnant woman haunted by the memory of her late fiancé, seeking a fresh start in a new home. But her open house quickly turns into a living hell when she catches the eye of a sadistic killer (played by Raúl Castillo, from Smile 2). Stranded at the property, Natalie finds herself in premature labor, adding a terrifying, physiological ticking clock to her desperate fight for survival.
From the trailer, PUSH promises a claustrophobic and visceral experience, building tension through a relentless cat-and-mouse game within the confines of her new (and seemingly unsafe) home. Charbonier and Powell have a knack for crafting suspenseful, contained horrors, and this looks to be no exception. It certainly offers a different flavor of home invasion dread compared to The Strangers, focusing on a pregnant protagonist in extreme duress, adding layers of vulnerability and urgency.
PUSH made its world premiere at the 2024 Sitges Film Festival and hits Shudder exclusively on Friday, July 11, 2025.
