If you're a fan of gothic horror or the stars of "Game of Thrones," this is exciting news! Sophie Turner and Kit Harington are reuniting for a new film called "The Dreadful," a period horror piece directed and written by Natasha Kermani (Lucky, V/H/S/85).
Set in 15th-century England during the Wars of the Roses, "The Dreadful" follows Anne (Sophie Turner) and her mother-in-law Morwen (played by Marcia Gay Harden), who live a solitary life on the outskirts of society. Their lives are disrupted by the arrival of Jago (Kit Harington), a man from their past, setting off a chain of events that will change Anne's life forever.
While specific plot details are scarce, the film is described as blending gothic horror with historical drama, exploring themes of isolation and the impact of the past, potentially with supernatural elements. Given Kermani's previous work and the setting, expect a dark, atmospheric, and unsettling experience.
It's also worth noting that Sophie Turner herself suggested Kit Harington for his role, making this reunion even more special for "Game of Thrones" fans.
While a trailer is not yet available, "The Dreadful" has wrapped filming and is currently in post-production. Keep an eye out for more news and a potential release towards the end of 2025!
